Vandalism targeting October 7 memorial — Sydney, Australia
Christison Park, Vaucluse, Sydney, Australia
The plaque of the October 7 memorial at Christison Park in Vaucluse was found smeared with faeces. The plaque was cleaned by Woollahra Council. Officials from the councils and the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies expressed disappointment.
Characterisation reported We are deeply disappointed that this memorial, created as a place of reflection and healing, has been vandalised so soon after its unveiling. It shows a concerning absence of empathy and respect for the suffering of others.
